The Orkedi Foudation Launch Day February
The Orkedi Foundation held its first launch day on February 2024 in Nanyuki, Timau and was attended by about 40 guests.
The programme included Arrivals, Welcome by Camille, a Tour of the Collection, View the artwork inspired by the natural world that forms part of the Orkedi Foundation Art Collection, visit the Aberdares mural, tour the Forest Studio and Artist in Residence Cottage and Drinks & Canapes. There was also a chat with artist Boniface Maina, who leads the award winning community art program, supported by visiting professional artists in residence at the Foundation.
A raffle was held to support the Foundation and one of Camille’s sketches was won by Mrs Annie Ndegwa.
All proceeds raised from the raffle will go towards materials for the children's community art lessons and the local Artist in Residence programme.
